Privacy Policy – OutfitLens AI Chrome Extension

This Privacy Policy explains how OutfitLens AI ("the Extension"), developed and published by Alabayae (alabayae.com), collects, uses, stores, and shares user data.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you use the Extension, we collect:

- Images you upload, drag-and-drop, or paste a URL for
- Images you select via the right-click "Analyze with OutfitLens AI" menu
- Your locally stored search history (clothing categories, tags, dates)  stored only on your device

We do NOT collect:
- Names, emails, or any personally identifiable information
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Payment or financial information
- Health information
- Precise location or IP-based tracking
- Browsing history beyond the single image being analyzed

2. HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

Images submitted for analysis are used solely to:
- Identify clothing type, style, color, and fabric
- Generate outfit descriptions and shopping search terms
- Provide modest fashion recommendations

Processing is performed in real time. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the single function described above.

3. HOW DATA IS STORED

- Images sent for analysis are transmitted to our backend server and forwarded to Google's Gemini API. They are NOT stored or logged on our servers after the response is returned.
- Search history is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. It never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
- We do not maintain any database of user images, identities, or activity.

4. HOW DATA IS SHARED

We share image data with one third party only:
- Google Gemini API  to perform AI-based image analysis. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer user data to any other third party, advertiser, or data broker.

5. DATA RETENTION

- Analyzed images are not retained after the response is generated.
- Local search history remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the Extension.

6. USER CONTROLS

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome, or by clearing the extension's storage via chrome://extensions.

7. PERMISSIONS USED AND WHY

- activeTab – allows the Extension to access the active tab only when you click the extension icon or use the right-click menu
- contextMenus – adds the "Analyze with OutfitLens AI" right-click option
- storage – saves your search history locally on your device
- Host permission (outfitlens-proxy-production.up.railway.app)  allows the Extension to securely send images to our analysis server

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This Extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
